England have made cricket history by smashing the record for the largest margin of victory in an ODI against South Africa.

They won by an astonishing 342 runs in their men's one day international series match at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton.

Brydon Carse caught the ultimately decisive effort from Corbin Bosch to send England into the history books.

The triumph against South Africa is the largest ever margin of victory by runs in ODI history.

It has smashed the previous record set by India in January 2023 when they won by 317 runs against Australia.

Among the stars for England was Jacob Bethell as he scored his first ever professional century.

The 21-year-old was on hand to hit 110 runs from 82 balls as his side delivered a crushing 414-5 scoreline with 50 overs played.
