AMES — It’s time to ask the big questions about Iowa State.
Saturday, ISU beat Iowa 16-13, winning Cy-Hawk in Jack Trice Stadium for the first time since 2011. Coach Matt Campbell now has won back-to-back games against Iowa for the first time.
Campbell said he talked to his team this week about the support 20,000 fans offered by traveling to watch them in Ireland and how important it is to pay them back.
“When there was no belief in Iowa State football, they gave you something to build on,” Campbell said. “And to be able to give on some special moments, and that was really important. We talked about that as, man, giving this great fan base who's already given us a great deal so far this season, to try to give them something to be really proud of, and hopefully we did that today.”
