The Auburn Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred about two miles from Auburn University.

Police responded to a call Saturday on Chadwick Lane regarding a body found in a wooded area of Kiesel Park, investigators said.

Officers found the body of a 59-year-old woman. Police said she had injuries from an assault and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Auburn police, a red Ford F-150 was missing from near the crime scene. It was not immediately known if the truck belonged to the woman.
