PARRISH, Fla. (WWSB) - Nearly 50 kids from around the state attended a free camp this weekend, centered on teaching them how to cope with loss.
Camp Blue Butterfly is designed to help support kids by offering a unique opportunity for them to connect, heal, and grow.
“This is a one-of-a-kind camp where children come and get a chance to meet other kids like them who have experienced the death of someone special to them, and they are just open to learning to find their wings and how to share their grief,” Camp Manager Danielle Wondrak said.
The weekend consists of support groups, learning coping skills, how to keep memories alive of those they’ve lost, and how to process feelings they might otherwise not know how to.
