CARROLL TOWNSHIP, Pa. —

A suspect is in custody after a stabbing occurred at Ringgold High School's stadium in Carroll Township, Washington County, Sunday afternoon.

The Washington County District Attorney confirmed Sunday that 17-year-old Daron Carpenter was arrested and is being charged as an adult. Advertisement

In a statement from district Superintendent Randall Skrinjorich, a stabbing was reported at the Joe Montana Stadium during a non-school-sponsored youth football game.

Skrinjorich said following the incident, one person was taken into police custody.

Washington County dispatchers confirmed to Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that first responders were called to the stadium around 1:35 p.m.

Dispatchers said at least one teen sustained a stab wound to the abdomen.
