DICKINSON — Emotions have been high for the Dickinson Mavericks to begin the 2025 season. It has led to some early season struggles during the Bismarck Crossover two weeks ago, and in their first regular season game against Bismarck High, where they were swept.

When they returned home to play their first home match on Saturday, those emotions got the better of them early on against the Minot North Sentinels, leading to mistakes that saw the Mavericks face multiple deficits.

However after dropping the first set 25-19, the Mavericks rejuvenated themselves and found the energy they needed for the remainder of the match that lifted them over the Sentinels, 3-1, to pick up their first conference win of the season.
