ST. TAMMANY PARISH, La. —

A Covington man is dead after a crash in St. Tammany parish early Sunday morning.

According to Louisiana State Police, around 12 a.m., a truck was traveling north on LA Hwy 1081. Advertisement

At the same time, James Bowie, 33, was riding his bike in the northbound lane of LA Hwy 1081 near the dashed line.

For reasons still under investigation, the truck hit Bowie in the northbound lane.

Bowie was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was uninjured.

This is an ongoing investigation.
