A 24-year-old woman was killed when the car she was in struck a median on the Near West Side early Sunday, Chicago police said.

Lilia Perez was a passenger in a dark-colored Lincoln sedan traveling east in the 1100 block of West Congress Parkway about 5:30 a.m. The car struck the median and Perez was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The condition of the driver was not reported, and other details were available.
