Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) confirmed on Sunday that he will not run for president in 2028.
Moore insisted he plans on “serving a full term” as governor of Maryland on MSNBC News’s Meet the Press on Sunday.
“I’m excited about reelection. I’m excited about what I’m going to be able to do for the people of Maryland,” Moore said.
“Do you rule out a run for president, Governor?” host Kristen Welker asked.
“Yeah, I’m not running for president,” Moore said.
According to the governor, Maryland went from the 43rd-ranked state in unemployment to among “the lowest unemployment rates.” Moore also noted a recent drop in crime .
