FARGO — UC-Santa Barbara tucked away two first-half goals and went on to shutout North Dakota State 3-0 on Sunday in women's nonconference soccer at Dacotah Field.

It was the first-ever meeting between NDSU (4-4) and the Gauchos (5-1-1). The Bison suffered their second shutout of the season, the last coming in a 2-0 defeat at Marquette on Aug. 17.

Olivia Howard, Emma Corcoran and Natalie Sheffey tallied for the Gauchos.

The teams tied with 11 shots. NDSU's starting keeeper Hannah Stipp had one save and allowed two goals. Payton Mulberry had two saves and a goal allowed in the second half. Maddie Buckley had five stops for UC-Santa Barbara.

NDSU travels to face Florida Atlantic on Sunday, Sept. 14.
