BBC Radio 2's Vernon Kay quipped that he was on the brink of getting "the sack" after indulging in some light-hearted banter with Radio 2 in the Park co-host Michelle Visage.
The duo were presenting live from Chelmsford's Hylands Park for Radio 2's much-loved annual event, which featured acts such as Marti Pellow, chart-topper Jessie J and Essex's own Olly Murs.
Michelle, 56, who shot to fame in the girl group Seduction before becoming a household name as a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race and is pals with Vernon's Strictly Come Dancing host wife Tess Daly, had been remarking on the scorching heat at the park on Saturday.
