OHIO TOWNSHIP, Ind. (WEVV) — Authorities provided updates on the recent fire in Ohio Township , assuring residents that the situation is now stable.

"No hazardous materials have currently been detected leaving the property. The current situation has stabilized and is transitioning from mitigation strategy to recovery strategy," said Chief Scott Foreman of Ohio Township Fire Department.

Chief Foreman also addressed the materials involved.

"Combustible metals were the main hazardous material involved in the fire. Examples would be magnesium, aluminum, and zinc," Foreman said.

Officials are still working to make sure no other hazardous materials were involved in the incident. Authorities confirmed that the structure was not affected.
