The Carolina Hurricanes are adding some depth as they prepare for training camp. The team has signed veteran forward Kevin Labanc to a professional tryout contract.

Labanc Signs PTO Contract

Labanc spent last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Playing in just 34 games due to shoulder surgery, Labanc scored two goals. Prior to last season, Labanc had spent his entire career with the San Jose Sharks. His best season came in 2018-19, when he scored 17 goals in 82 games.

Role in Carolina

Labanc will have to earn his spot on the roster. The Hurricanes' projected lineup does not show a need for a depth forward on the bottom lines.
