Sabrina Carpenter has done it again. The perky pop star lit up the 2025 MTV VMAs with a provocative performance of “Tears,” taken from her recently released seventh album, Man’s Best Friend (which landed on our Best Albums of August 2025 list). Watch the performance below.
As a song about — well, climaxing — Carpenter unsurprisingly pushed the envelope with her performance. She emerged from a… manhole and getting wet in the rain. And in one of the night’s lone political moments, she was joined by a group of drag performers holding signs with slogans like “Dolls, Dolls, Dolls,” “If You Hate You’ll Never Get Laid,” and “Protect Trans Rights.”
