If there’s any evidence that magic exists, it’s Lady Gaga’s logic-defying Sunday night. After winning the award for Artist of the Year and delivering a moving speech at the MTV VMAs , Gaga skedaddled out of UBS Arena in Elmont, New York and fled to Madison Square Garden to perform at her Mayhem Ball tour in front of a sold-out crowd. Now that’s a busy night.

Thankfully, both Gaga and MSG let tonight’s concertgoers know that there’d be a slight delay in Mother Monster’s arrival. “NYC Monsters, I’ll be on stage tonight around 9:30 p.m.,” she wrote on Instagram . “Doors open at 7:00 PM!” To make things even more complicated, the VMAs included a later performance by Gaga herself, which was not streaming live but had actually been pre-recorded the night before.
