BOISE, Idaho — Blue and white ribbons now hang throughout the Treasure Valley as a community remembers 13-year-old Amelia Palmer, who died Labor Day in a plane crash while returning home from Wyoming with her family.

Amelia died at the scene of the crash. Her parents, Earl and Cindy Palmer, remain hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, while her 11-year-old brother survived and called for help.

Family friends from the Palmers' church, the Waters family, organized the ribbon display at locations special to Amelia throughout the area.

"I'm hoping when they see it, it's like getting a hug from the community," Terri Anne Waters said.
