After four-straight losses tested its resilience, the Michigan women’s soccer team got the reset it needed against Youngstown State on Sunday afternoon.

Riding a first-half strike from sophomore defender Josie Owen-Kren and a second goal from sophomore forward Elle Ervin, the Wolverines (3-4) blanked the Penguins (1-6), 2-0. This victory marked Michigan’s second shutout of the season and offered a jolt of confidence just days before beginning Big Ten competition.

Outshooting Youngstown State 29-6 and holding them without a true attack for the first 24 minutes of play, Owen-Kren made her collegiate scoring debut in the 17th minute.
