A resurfacing project in Selma is taking place on U.S. Highway 80.

The project includes resurfacing, guardrail installation and highway striping from the Edmund Pettis Bridge eastward to Dallas County Road 43.

The project will have intermittent lane closures so drivers should plan accordingly for possible delays, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.

ALDOT urges drivers to drive the posted speed limit and be mindful of people and equipment in the work zone.

The approximately $5.4 million project was awarded to Asphalt Contractors, Inc., of Montgomery. The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2026.
