Lady Gaga dedicated her Artist of the Year win at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) to her fiancé, Michael Polansky.

After being presented with the prestigious prize by Lenny Kravitz at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on Sunday night, the superstar - real name Stefani Germanotta - addressed the crowd.

"Getting ready for the show, I thought about how much it would mean to me to get this award tonight. And I cannot begin to tell you what this means to me," she began. "To my partner in all things, Michael, creating this year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream. And you have been my partner every step of the way. I dedicate this to you, to my love."

At the end of her speech, Gaga also thanked her fans, known as Little Monsters, for their ongoing support.

"Thank you, little monsters, my fans, for always supporting me and always supporting the monster in me," the 39-year-old added.

She also noted that she had to leave the spectacle early to get back to Madison Square Garden for her The Mayhem Ball concert. Her performances of Abracadabra and The Dead Dance, which were filmed at the venue on Saturday, aired during Sunday's ceremony.

Elsewhere in the show, Ariana Grande gave an emotional acceptance speech after she received the prize for Best Pop Video for Brighter Days Ahead.

"Thank you so much. Oh my God, this is so kind.... I have to start by saying thank you so much to my fans. I'm gonna cry," she began. "I love you with every fibre of my being. Thank you, MTV."

Ariana went on to credit Brighter Days Ahead video co-director, Christian Breslauer, and the entire "village" who made her vision come to life.

And to conclude, the popstar gave a shout-out to her producers and collaborators on Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead, a reissue of her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine. The project was unveiled in March.

"Thank you for championing me as a songwriter and producer as well. I love you so much," she shared, adding: "And thank you to my therapist and gay people. I love you."

In addition to Best Pop Video, Ariana also collected Video of the Year and Best Long Form Video at the prizegiving.
