LANDOVER, Md. — All Giants fans want from 2025 is a reason to hope.

This long-suffering franchise entered the season — and Sunday’s Week 1 game at the Commanders — having gone 3-14 last year and 6-11 the year before. Since opening 7-2 as a rookie head coach in 2022, Brian Daboll was 11-29-1 when playing starters in the regular season.

After closing 2024 with a disastrous 1-11 skid — including an organization-worst 10-game losing streak — things could only go up this year, especially for Daboll’s offense.

Right? Right?

Wrong.

The Giants’ offense was a disaster Sunday (yet again), as they lost 21-6 to the Commanders, mustering just two field goals.

They gained just 231 yards, and new starting quarterback Russell Wilson put together an uninspiring stat line: 17-of-37 passing, 168
