It's starting to feel like fall in Kentucky, and with colder weather, winter comes to mind.

The Farmers' Almanac recently published its 2025-2026 winter weather forecast for the U.S., with "a season of dramatic swings and widespread wintry weather" expected in various regions.

In Kentucky, a very snowy and cold winter is predicted following historic weather across the commonwealth in 2025. At the start of the year, Louisville was hit with more than 10 inches of snow over two days. A new one-day record was set for snowfall amounts at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, with 7 inches of snow recorded at the location on Sunday, Jan. 5.
