Following multiple requests from readers, the Herald is releasing the full dataset of purchases made by state agencies using their procurement cards, or P-Cards, as provided by the state comptroller’s office following the paper’s freedom of information request.
You can download the dataset as an editable excel file here.
The Herald was able to use this data to generate several recent news stories.
Herald reporter Chris Van Buskirk used it to examine spending by state agencies in Las Vegas and elsewhere for a story titled “Public agencies in Mass. spent thousands at casinos using taxpayer-funded credit cards,” and for another piece examining spending by the Governor’s cabinet staff titled “Healey’s tech secretary used taxpayer-funded credit cards to hire high-end chauffeurs“.
