Hafthor Bjornsson is now a three-time deadlift world record holder after smashing his own personal best.

The Icelandic strongman surpassed his previous world record in Birmingham at the weekend.

Bjornsson was appearing at the 2025 World Deadlift Championship.

He closed out the event by deadlifting 510kg (1,124lbs) in a stunning feat of strength.

His achievement also saw him break his own world record set back in July.

On that occasion, Bjornsson lifted 505kg to better his previous best of 501kg from five years earlier .

The 36-year-old only returned to the sport last year after initially walking away from Strongman events in 2018.

He has now teased he could break the world record for a fourth time in the near future.
