Teen charged with attempted murder after Easton stabbing

A teenager from Bristol is due to appear in court today, Monday, September 8, charged with attempted murder.

It is in relation to a serious assault that took place in Easton on Friday, September 5.

Mohammed Akakhail, aged 19, of Shamrock Road, in Eastville, was arrested on Friday, and has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court this morning.

The stabbing incident was reported at around 2.40pm on Friday, on Stapleton Road. The victim, who suffered knife wounds, was initially taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

He remains in hospital, but his injuries are no longer believed to be life-threatening.
