Two people were stabbed Sunday night near a Downtown Pittsburgh park, police say.
Just before 8 p.m., Pittsburgh Police were dispatched to Bigelow Square at Chatham Street near Frankie Pace Park for a report of a stabbing, authorities said.
A man and a woman allegedly told police that they were in the park when a man approached them demanding money, and after they refused, the man stabbed them, police said.
The man was wounded on his chin and leg and the woman had a superficial wound on her arm, according to police. Both were taken to a hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was detained at the scene and was expected to face charges. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition, with wounds on his legs.
