RICH COUNTY — Authorities in Garden City are asking for the public's help to identify the driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a home and a telephone pole before fleeing the scene.
The hit-and-run happened around 2 a.m. Sunday at a home on North Bear Lake Boulevard in Garden City. Officials with the Rich County Sheriff’s Office said a white Chevrolet truck was speeding when it slid off the road and slammed into the front of the house.
The truck left tire marks across the dirt and front lawn as it went onto the wooden wraparound porch. The impact snapped a wooden beam near the base of the home. The truck also hit and snapped a telephone pole at its base.
