HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has sent out a message to anyone that covers their own travel costs for work, saying if they claim with them directly, they could "keep 100%" of their own cash.

They warned Brits to avoid "online adverts and tax refund companies who offer to make work expense claims for you so they can claim a commission."

Instead, they stated: "If you’re eligible, you’ll keep 100% of any money that you’re owed."

Work expenses can include vehicles they utilise for professional purposes, along with work-related travel, regardless of their chosen method of transport.
