A Sunday night fire that started in the basement of a Cherokee County home left the residence with significant damage, though firefighters confirmed no one was hurt in the blaze.
Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services rushed to the scene on Red Gate Terrace at 10:42 p.m. after neighbors reported seeing flames. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire pouring from the home’s basement.
Quick Response Prevents Injuries
Firefighters immediately searched the home to make sure everyone was out safely. Once they confirmed the house was empty, multiple crews attacked the flames with hose lines in what the fire department described as a “coordinated and aggressive suppression effort.”
The good news: Their quick work brought the fire under control, and no one was injured.
