Niagara police are looking for an armed man in West Lincoln and are asking residents to remain in their homes behind locked doors.

On social media Monday, Niagara Regional Police said they are looking for a white 2009 Ford Ranger with the licence plate 9475FT, driven by a man in the area of Concession Road 2 and Centre Road.

He is described as white, 38 years old, about 6 feet tall, with a beard and shaggy hair.

Police later said the man is armed and is believed to be on foot. Residents are being asked to shelter in place, lock doors and vehicles, and not answer their door.

If anyone sees the man, they should call 911 and not approach him.
