Dr. Robert Atlas, the chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, told 11 News that pregnant women who are diagnosed with COVID-19 are more susceptible to complications, like preterm birth and preeclampsia.

Atlas said it's safe for pregnant women to get the COVID-19 vaccine at any point in their pregnancy.
