Smoke from the Garnet Fire in Fresno County, California, is drifting into the Truckee Meadows on Monday, Sept. 8, lowering visibility and worsening air quality in Reno.

The National Weather Service said southwest winds could push more smoke into the Reno area later today. At the moment, Mono County in California, as well as Pershing and Churchill Counties in Nevada, are receiving the heaviest impacts, according to the weather service.
