NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. —

A person was injured after multiple shots were fired near Westmoreland County Community College’s New Kensington Campus.

According to a criminal complaint, New Kensington police officers heard gunshots coming from the area of the Valley Royal Court along Fifth Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. Monday. Advertisement

Officials said when they arrived on scene, a man was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and hip. He was later taken to the hospital.

Sky 4, Pittsburgh's only news helicopter, spotted a SWAT team, as well as multiple cruisers, minutes after shots were fired.

The complaint said witnesses told police the victim was shot by another man, identified as 17-year-old Logan King, who ran into a nearby apartment following the shooting.
