A South Plainfield resident is celebrating a $50,000 Powerball win following Saturday night’s historic $1.787 billion jackpot drawing.

According to the New Jersey Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased at David’s Stationery, located on Sampton Avenue in South Plainfield. The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Power Ball to secure the $50,000 prize.

The September 6 drawing made national headlines as players in Missouri and Texas split the $1.787 billion jackpot, the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history. The winning numbers were 11, 23, 44, 61, and 62, with the Power Ball 17 and multiplier 2.
