ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Spirit Airlines announced that it will be pulling all of its flights out of the Albuquerque International Sunport this year. Their last flights out of New Mexico will be on October 2. This comes about 10 months after the company filed for bankruptcy protection. The company blamed a series of quarterly losses and two failed mergers, one with JetBlue and one with Frontier, for its financial situation.

Sunport Air Service Development Manager Dan Jiron sent this statement:

We can confirm that Spirit Airlines will cease operations at the Albuquerque International Sunport effective October 3, 2025. This decision is part of a broader change impacting multiple markets.
