GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — More than 120 animals were seized from a woman who is already facing animal cruelty charges in a separate case.

News 8 affiliate WDIV-TV reports the animals were taken on Friday in Washtenaw County. The Humane Society of Huron Valley says there were 126 animals in all, including dogs, cats, horses, goats, sheep, snakes, iguanas, frogs, tarantulas and at least one donkey.

HSHV identified the woman as Christine Thompson, who reportedly had more than 100 animals seized in a separate incident and at least 40 horses in another.

HSHV CEO Tanya Hilgendorf called Friday’s seizure a “large and complex rescue.”

“The sheer number and diversity of animals, combined with the suspect’s long history of cruelty, is heartbreaking and infuriating,” Hilgendorf said in a news
