In honor of Dairy Queen's 85th birthday, the company is offering DQ Rewards members 85-cent blizzards between Sept. 8, 2025 and Sept. 21, 2025. Members must place an order of $1 or more and order via the app.

Dairy Queen has brought back 85-cent blizzards, at least for a limited time.

DQ is celebrating its birthday (again) this September, offering the marked-down desserts to DQ Rewards members who were unable to take advantage of the birthday deal in the spring.

The deal, redeemable until Sept. 21, allows customers to purchase a small Blizzard for 85 cents when they place an order of $1 or more. Dairy Queen previously offered the deal in March and April to celebrate its 85th birthday.

The American chain of soft serve ice cream and fast-food restaurants opened its first store in Joliet, Illinois, in 1940. Dairy Queen's 85-cent Blizzard offer is a continuation of the chain’s birthday celebration, the company said.

According to an Aug. 25 news release from Dairy Queen, the offer is "the perfect opportunity to try a new flavor or revisit an old favorite at an unbeatable value while celebrating 85 years of DQ.”

Here’s what to know about the Blizzard offer, including how to claim it.

DQ Rewards members can claim the offer through the DQ App so long as they make a purchase of $1 or more. When checking out, customers must also redeem the DQ Rewards deal on the app.

Dairy Queen unveils Fall Treat Collection

In addition to the 85-cent Blizzard offer, Dairy Queen has ushered in fall with a collection of new and returning seasonal treats, which were unveiled last month.

DQ’s Fall Treat Collection includes:

  • Caramel Toffee Cookie Blizzard Treat: DQ soft serve blended with thick, chewy cookie pieces, toffee and caramel.
  • Maple Cookie Shake: DQ soft serve blended with a Maple Cookie Crumble base, milk and garnished with whipped topping.

The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard – a treat made of soft serve ice cream with pumpkin pie pieces, garnished with whipped topping and nutmeg – rounds out the lineup. It, unlike the other treats, is a familiar favorite.

Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at Dairy Queen, said in a news release that customers look forward to the company’s fall lineup every year.

“From fan-favorite pumpkin pie to the decadent indulgence of caramel and toffee, we’ve crafted something special for every palate,” Hokanson said. “Every sip and spoonful (is) a celebration of comfort and flavor that’s made even sweeter with an extra special deal for our fans in celebration of our 85th year.”
