OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Lizzie Johnson’s passion for journalism started back in high school, at Millard North, writing articles for the student newspaper and the yearbook program.
After graduating from Mizzou, she worked for the San Francisco Chronicle. She led extensive coverage of the 2018 Camp Fire that devastated Northern California’s Butte County.
Afterwards she wrote a book titled “Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire”. That book has been turned into a movie, set to be released on October 3rd.
Reflecting on her time as a journalist, Johnson’s goal in her work is to help us better understand one another.
