The Mets placed catcher Luis Torrens on the 10-day inured list, retroactive to Sunday, with a right forearm contusion before the opener of a four-game set with the Phillies on Monday night. Hayden Senger was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

As the backup to primary catcher Francisco Alvarez, Torrens has hit .225 with a .287 OBP and five homers in 87 games. The 29-year-old has caught 18 attempted basestealers this season, third best in MLB, and boasts a 1.87-second pop time , which is in the 97th percentile in the Majors.

Senger has hit .174 in 30 games this season, his first in the big leagues.
