FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - The Fort Wayne Fire Department (FWFD) says they are investigating a house fire on the city’s southeast side on Monday afternoon.
Crews were called to the home in the 3300 block of Central Drive, near McMillen Park, around 3:50 p.m.
The department says there was a small fire in one of the bedrooms that was brought under control about 10 minutes after their arrival.
One person who was inside the home at the time was able to safely escape before crews arrived.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
The department also noted that the home had working smoke detectors and reminded residents to regularly check theirs to make sure they are properly working.
