WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Kansas State Fair announced Monday afternoon that the Demolition Derby has been canceled due to inclement weather.

"The safety of our fans, participants, and staff is always our top priority. After monitoring conditions and consulting with officials, the Fair determined that canceling the event was the most responsible course of action," the Fair said in a news release.

Those who purchased tickets will receive a refund. Those who purchased via credit card will receive an automatic refund. The Kansas State Fair Ticket Office will contact guests who purchased tickets with cash.

The Kansas State Fair continues through Sunday.
