HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - Officials with the Warrick Humane Society are asking for the public's help after the Newburgh chemical fire caused an evacuation of all animals from their facilities.
Officials say all animals are safe in foster care other other facilities that have made room for their resources. However, a release from the society says they are facing the financial burden of being closed as well as vetting costs for rescues and a planned construction of a new shelter just a few lots from where the fire happened.
"Our organization does not receive any government funding, and is run on donations and process from Home Away Pet Spa," a release from the Warrick Humane Society reads. "Currently, we cannot take any new grooming or boarding appointments until it is safe to return."
