Iam not a West Point graduate. I joined the military as an enlisted man and received my commission through ROTC. My only experience at West Point was as a guest speaker on three different occasions, and I had the opportunity to experience the history of West Point’s art and history. I, like most Americans who visit West Point, am impressed by its stunning natural beauty, historic architecture, and the sense of military tradition that permeates the campus. The picturesque views of the Hudson River and the surrounding mountains add to the site’s charm. The grandeur of the buildings, such as the Cadet Chapel and the barracks, reflects the academy’s long history and commitment to excellence.
