WINSLOW, Maine — Leaders at Winslow Community Cupboard said they have decided to expand in an effort to better support the growing number of people utilizing their services.
Ana Campos is one of several volunteers at the food pantry who is looking forward to what a larger space can offer.
"We're working out of a church here, and that has its limitations,” she explained.
When the Winslow Community Cupboard opened in March of 2020, it served about 30 families, but now it's serving thousands each month.
"We serve all towns," Co-Director Kristi Letourneau said.
While the original space served its purpose, allowing volunteers to provide food twice a month and three times a week through its food trailer, organizers are struggling to meet demand.
"There's a lot of people who have to climb
