Eva Victor has spent most of 2025 talking about their trauma.

The 31-year-old, who uses both they/them and she/her pronouns, was shot into the spotlight in January when her debut film, Sorry, Baby premiered to a rapturous reception at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

Written, directed, starring and loosely based on Victor's own experiences, the black comedy ignited a studio bidding war, with production powerhouse A24 taking the prize and Victor embarking on a near-year-long press tour.

"It's hard to talk about, and it's intense," Victor tells ABC Arts.

"I spent so many years building the film to say everything I want to say in the way I want to say it."
