A Monday afternoon collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV left a driver dead and another person in serious condition, the Allen County Sheriff's Department said.

About 3 p.m., officers with the sheriff's department were sent to the intersection of East Ferguson and Muldoon roads in reference to a reported crash with injuries.

That area is east of Winchester Road and west of Decatur Road.

Officers located a pickup truck that was off the roadway in the ditch and a SUV in the intersection. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on East Ferguson Road at the time of the crash, a news release said.

The preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck left the roadway onto the shoulder, over corrected and came back into the eastbound lanes, the release said. The pickup truck then s
