Amherstburg's town council has already heard from a few companies who could potentially re-develop the Diageo bottling facility if and when it closes in February, the public heard Monday.
"Administration has had correspondence with three businesses interested in potential reinvestment of Diageo properties and is creating a portfolio of the site for potential investors once we understand Diageo's plans," Mayor Michael Prue said at a council meeting on Monday.
Diageo, the spirits giant behind Crown Royal, announced late last month it was closing its Amherstburg bottling facility in February. The move will cost more than 250 people their jobs.
