A second brain death determination was made just before noon Monday for a 17-year-old boy who was shot in the early morning Saturday at Zablan Beach in Nanakuli.

The case was reclassified to murder in the second degree.

Honolulu police arrested Kaison K. Kaholo, 19, who turned himself in Saturday in connection with the shooting of the 17-year-old and a 19-year-old man.

Kaholo was charged at 6:30 p.m. Monday with attempted murder in the second degree. Bail was set at $500,000.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to reports of gunshots near Zablan Beach after a party in the area.

Officers found the 17-year-old male in the road with a gunshot wound, according to a Honolulu Police Department summary.
