LAS VEGAS – MMA Junkie was on scene reporting live from Tuesday's Dana White’s Contender Series 81 event.

Dana White's Contender Series cards see prospects fighting for the opportunity to sign a UFC deal, with UFC president Dana White on hand to make the decisions.

The fifth week of the ninth season will see 10 fighters compete for their shot at a UFC contract. In the feature bout at heavyweight, Stephen Asplund (6-1) scored one of the fastest knockouts in DWCS history against an overconfident Anthony Guarascio (3-1).

The UFC Apex hosted the card, which streamed live on ESPN+.

Who won a UFC contract?

At the conclusion of the event, White handed out UFC contracts to four winners and one losing fighter: Carol Foro and the opponent she beat, Shanelle Dyer, as well as Samuel Sanches, Lerryan Douglas and Steven Asplund.

Shannelle Dyer vs. Carol Foro

Carol Foro opened the card with an upset when she stunted the hype around PFL veteran Shannelle Dyer courtesy of some superior power punching. Foro dropped Dyer multiple times in the first and second rounds then made it through the final round to get her hand raised on the scorecards and bring UFC CEO Dana White to his feet in ovation and into the octagon to congratulate the only two females of the DWCS so far for their solid performances.

Chasen Blair vs. Samuel Sanches

Samuel Sanches delivered the first brutal finish of the night when he put Chasen Blair to sleep with a nasty combination near the fence. The pressure inside the clinch was relentless, and Blair's chin couldn't hold up, leaving him slump and on the wrong end of a highlight from the 22-year-old Sanches, who is nicknamed "The Prodigy."

Felipe Franco vs. Freddy Vidal

Freddy Vidal nearly finished Felipe Franco with ground-and-pound in the opening round, but he didn't, and both men were exhausted after the opening round. The two inexperienced light heavyweights slogged through the second frame and left the fight up for grabs going into the final five minutes. They spent the entire round trying to take each other down – mostly against the fence – with little damage inflicted. Vidal ended on top, took the back and got a rear-naked choke for the last-minute finish to end an agonizing contest on a high.

Lerryan Douglas vs. Cam Teague

Lerryan Douglas wasted no time landing quick and heavy to the chin of Cam Teague with a left hook, overhand right combination. He got back up, but then ate a clean left hook again and was folded flat on the canvas. Devastating knockout and more than UFC contract worthy. It was tied for the seventh-fastest knockout in DWCS history.

Steven Asplund vs. Anthony Guarascio

They exchange big shots from the very outset of the fight, with Steven Asplund using his height and length to clip Anthony Guarascio multiple times. Guarascio waves him in, but gets floored with a huge left hand that puts him down. Asplund got on top and battered with punches and elbows to seal the deal in 16 seconds for the third-fastest knockout in DWCS history.
