Monday was another busy day for the Braves, who I would venture to say are having a more newsworthy September than many had anticipated.

On the field, the Braves got the job done in a victory over the cubs. Bryce Elder looked great while Ozzie Abilies and Matt Olson went deep once again. It was another nice victory over a playoff level opponent. However, the major news occurred off the field on Tuesday.

Catcher Sean Murphy will be out for the rest of the season and likely has an off-season full of rehab ahead after it was revealed he has a significant tear in his hip. The hope is he will be ready for Spring Training. It certainly is eye-opening that after three years of dealing with the injury, it was only known to the Braves as of this weekend.
