Sorry-looking burglar smashed into shop to steal cigarettes

A man from Bristol who stole a large quantity of cigarettes from a convenience store has been jailed and must pay hundreds of pounds in compensation.

Grant Turner, 38 and of Winchester Road, Brislington , admitted burglary and was sentenced at North Somerset Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 2.

He will pay £2,146 in compensation to the operators of the store Locking Road, Weston-super-Mare , which he broke into on Thursday, July 31.

Turner was also sentenced to six months in prison.
